Hill walking / Mountain climbing
Crough Patrick is Ireland’s holy mountain and is climbed by hundreds of thousands of people each year. It is a fairly easy climb and only gets a bit challenging towards the top. It needs to be seen to believed, but there is a church on the top of this mountain and despite Ireland’s troubled past, that is now thankfully for the history books, this church has visitors of every religion and from all over the world! It was built by hand and every stone was carried up the mountain on donkeys. Bless the poor donkeys! Shower and changing facilities are available at the bottom of the mountain. There is an excellent view of Clew bay from the top, where it is said that there is an island for every day of the year You will be guided on you climb by an experienced climb leader. Suitable clothing and good quality boots are a must! Again, your safety and comfort comes first.

It has a very gentle flow and is ideal for beginners. Life jackets are also a must for this adventure and full training will be provided for those in need. Each canoe carries their own picnic that we have in the remains of a 1200 year old medieval castle on an island in the middle of the lake. We only do different at Irish Outback Adventures!
